Big PTFE Glyd Ring Seals
PTFE glyd ring seal is a double-acting O-Ring energized piston seal for dynamic applications. Glyd ring provides low friction with no stick-slip, minimal break out force and high wear resistance. Main application is actuator cylinders.
Piston Seals or Piston Rings are used in hydraulic cylinders for fluid sealing. PTFE Rod are internal to the cylinder head and seal against the cylinder bore, preventing fluid from flowing across the cylinder head. This allows pressure build up on one side of the piston, making the cylinder extend or retract.
PTFE Seals may be preferred in applications with demands for low breakaway friction and when it comes to chemical and thermal resistance. Notches in the slide ring edges enable rapid pressurization of the seal to react to abrupt changes in pressure. PTFE is hard and non-elastic when compared with polyurethane and rubber materials.
